We are having a Widow’s Dinner at church tonight to honor our widow’s and their families.  This is such a special time of the year because it reminds us to be thankful.  🙂  This is not something we should have to be reminded of, but, of course we do.  I’m so grateful for my family.  My husband, well most days he’s pretty fantastic!  Like this morning, I was at the store at 6:30 a.m. buying enough potatoes to feed 50 people.  I knew I needed to do this several weeks ago, but I’m a last minute kind of gal!  Rushed home and my precious hubby helped me peel 30 lbs of potatoes!  Then helped cube and boil them!  As I left for work at 10, he was finishing up the mashing!!  What a guy!!  I think I’ll keep him around.

As I’m writing this, I am reminded that I still have my spouse.  We’ve been married for 16+ years and we are still in love and for the most part, pretty happy with each other!!  😉

As I stated earlier, we will be honoring our widows later tonight.  They did not have the same luxury as I did this morning as I sat beside my husband and peeled pounds and pounds of potatoes.  It is such a very small act of what we did this morning, but it’s also huge.  I don’t want to take for granted what I have.  I lost my mom 10 years ago and I still feel that loss on a daily basis.  I would love to call my mom.  I would love to sit beside her.  I would love to hold her hand.

Lord, help us to remember daily the blessings You’ve given and to be Grateful…..

Day 69………..
