Please read Following The Read Thread to Scarlett.

I’m devastated about Shepherd’s Field.  I assumed they truly loved the children in their care.

How wrong I was.

How wrong I am to ever assume.

Mollie’s Gotcha Day video journey so far…..:)

Well, I finally got this done!! I haven’t been able to go back and look at our pictures of “Gotcha Day” because it was truly such a heartbreaking experience.

Mollie has brought such joy to our lives, I can not imagine life without her!! Thank you Lord for all 3 of my beautiful children!!

Jeremy and I are blessed, blessed, blessed!!

Enjoy the video, it’s only 10 minutes long!! 🙂

Count Your Blessings, Instead of Sheep

As I have now watched “White Christmas” more this Christmas than any other, one of the songs has embedded itself into my spirit, “Count Your Blessings, Instead of Sheep”.  One of the biggest blessings in my life is my children, all 3 of them!!  Taylor Brian, Kennedy Belle, and Mollie Elizabeth Jing Xiu!  The way the older kids love their little sister, is heart stopping!!  Taylor adores Mollie and watching Kennedy and Mollie do a remake of the song “Sisters” from the movie, makes my heart so full!!  I’ll post that video later!!  J

But I’m also reminded that while I have 3 beautiful, wonderful children, there’s a Mother across the ocean in Shanxi Province, China, who gave up her beautiful child.  We do not know the reasons why she was left at the Taiyuan City Hospital, and we probably never will.  Was it because her Mother knew she had a heart condition that she could not afford to have treated?  In China, you must pay before you receive medical treatment.   So by leaving her at the hospital, she knew her precious daughter would be taken care of.  Was it because she was a second child?  Was it because she was a girl?  Questions that will never have an answer.

I cannot imagine the grief the Mother went through as she placed her daughter at the steps of the hospital.  Did she watch her until she was found?  I can only assume she did, I would have.  As she watched, she had to know she would never see this beautiful girl again.  She was doing the only thing she knew she could do to save her precious child’s life.  She was laying down her life for her daughter’s.

So now it’s Christmas time, the “Most Wonderful Time of the Year”.  I know this Mother is thinking about her daughter.  Where is she?  Is she healthy, happy?  Is she safe?  Most of all, is she loved?

I will never get the opportunity to meet this precious, self-sacrificing Mother.  I will never get the chance to tell her “Yes, she is healthy, happy, safe, and most definitely is she loved.”  Also, I will never get to tell her “Thank you.”  I’m sure I would say all of these things through my grateful tears, because that is how they are written now.

So this Christmas as we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, let us remember the sacrifice of others.  The Men and Women who serve in our Armed Forces, you are remembered and appreciated.  Also, the families that have lost their precious treasurers, you are in our every prayer.

I understand that I am a very blessed Mother; the Lord has been very gracious to me.  So I “Count my Blessings, Instead of Sheep”.

Preschool Picture 2012

Seriously, could this girl get any cuter?!

Love her!

Halloween 2012!!

Um, yes, I am precious!!

Cutest Minnie Mouse, ever!!

Mollie’s first Halloween was a success!!  She had a blast!!

We had so much fun just watching her!!!

What a blessing this child is to our family!

Thank you Lord!!!

Happy 3 Month Gotcha Day Mollie!!!

It was 3 months ago today….at 9:30 a.m. when we walked into the Taiyuan City Civil Affairs office.

I was so nervous and scared. Almost 2 years had past since we started on this journey. We had looked at her picture for over 7 months and this day we would meet her face to face.

I saw her first through the window, she was already there. She was sitting perfectly still on a chair in the lobby, a sucker clenched tight in one hand.

I told my family, “she’s here” and started to cry.

When we walked in and she saw us, it was heartbreaking. She “knew” what was happening and she started to cry.

Jeremy and I tried everything to comfort her, but nothing helped.

Nothing would help for several days until Kennedy pulled out the iPod. CamWow became our best friend on that day.

She started opening up and not grieving quite as hard.

When you look at her today, you can’t even imagine she is the same girl she was 3 months ago.

She still has her moments of grief, but they are short and infrequent.

Happy 3 Month Gotcha Day Mollie!!! We love you and are so blessed God called you to be ours!! 🙂

Way to go Kennedy!!!

I’m going to be a super proud parent and post a video of Kennedy playing the piano for the Jr. High Choir Fall concert.

I’ll apologize in advance for the “shakiness”!!  I was trying to wrangle a toddler and hold the phone up so you could see over the crazy bar!!!

Also, you’ll hear in the video Mollie whisper “Jia Jia” and you’ll hear me shush her!!!

It was a great night and I could not be more proud of my daughter!!

Way to go Kennedy!!

Want a happy video?!! :)

I know, it’s been forever since I’ve posted!!!

I’m sorry!!!

Please forgive me!

My new saying is, “I’m a new mom, cut me some slack”!!

Mollie is doing so very well!!!

Preschool is going well….yay!

Church is going well, she is enjoying her Sunday School class and nursery buddies….yay!!

And guess whose she has decided isn’t so bad after all….Baba!!

So, all in all, I believe that God is answering prayers!!

She really is about the cutest thing that has ever come out of Ch*na!!

I’m going to let this video prove that!!

Ok, really, haven’t I been home long enough to get back into the routine of blogging??

Wow, that is one looooong title!!  🙂

Ok, my goal is to blog everday.

That’s a goal people, doesn’t mean it will always happen….but I’m seriously wanting to do this thing!!

An update for you that are not on Facebook…..

Again, why aren’t you on Facebook?

It would make my life A LOT easier!!

Jk, I get why people are not on FB.

But that is another post!!

Mollie is doing really, really well!!

Makes my heart very happy to post those words!!

She loves music!!  As a matter of fact, she’s on my iPhone now listening to one of my favorites!!

She’s smart as a whip!!  (See above sentence…)

She takes my phone and maneuvers the heck out of it!!

I don’t even know how she did what she did!!

She’s very happy!  She seems to love her family very much!!

Either that or she is one really great performer!!

Either way, there’s talent!!  🙂  JK!

Really, she is the cutest thing to leave China!!

She is still just in love and awe with her Jei Jei (Kennedy)!

The way she looks at her, you know she wants to be just like her when she is the ripe old age of 13!!

She loves Taylor as well, probably not as much as he loves her!!

The way the bigs (Taylor and Kennedy) are with her, it just melts my heart!!

I seriously get teary when I watch them!!  They adore her!!

Kennedy and I were talking Saturday and we both made the comment that it’s like she’s always been with our family!!

She just fits us!!

That’s the best way I can describe it!!

God knew what He was doing when He put her with us!!

She is definitely a Turner/Herndon combo!!

She is clumsy!!  Just like her Mama!!

She has stinky feet and breath!!  Just like her…..well, like all of us!!  🙂

She loves to be clean….just like Baba!!

She picks at her toes….just like her brother!!

She loves to sing and dance….just like her sister!!

I could go on and on about the similarities, but you get the picture!!

You want to hear about what she did today!!

Today was a momentous day in the Turner household….

Mollie started Preschool!!

We were not going to start her this year, but we both felt she is ready.

So today she officially went to school!!!

(Insert tears and sadness from Mama here!!)

No, I am happy for her!

She wants/needs to be around other kids her age and she seemed to love it!!

She’ll only go 2 days a week for 2.5 hours a day.

So it’s not like she’ll be gone all day, for 7 full hours!!

Needless to say Kennedy is jealous!!

She wants to go to school 2 days a week for 2.5 hours!!

Mollie did very well.

It was a good day.

What a sweet girl!!
